Friday, October 13, 1972, A Fairchild FH-227 twin turboprop airplane crosses the Andes Mountains carrying 40 passengers and 5 crew. The plane would disappear from the modern world and everyone on board thought to be dead, but 72 days later, 16 would emerge alive and tell their story.................

this is the first novel which i read fully ,it was so beautifully written that i had no choice other then to read it .. off course my brother the one who is also my mentor suggested me the book ,it is written in the best possible way it can be done
with chilling atmosphere of Andes how people changed ..there leader succumbed to the conditions and how other members took the charge ........
actually ALIVE was aired on HBO and was watching it ,i was mesmerised by the movie itself when later on my brother told me that a novel also exist by the name on the same incidence i got thrilled about reading it ...........
while reading ,the experience was not like the way it was on TV ....it was entirely different
specially the part when they started eating human flesh(yeah cannibalism) ..........if one thinks of the absolute idea then it seems quite ruthless but while you read, it is the other way round..the heinous act looks more like a act of survival and specially in the end when they finally try to escape two among them at last reaching the nearby green land..... its mind blowing
its a adventure thriller full of human emotions .......
in short its worth Reading in every sense..........
